RACE - RECUPERATE - REPEAT

Distance Runs, Beach Sprints & Beach Flags

Beach Stormers is Surf Sports Beach Events done different -

  • Distance Runs run in a Round Robin format. You race 3 rounds (or 4 for some age categories) – different distances – same endurance required – similar pain experienced. In each round you accumulate points based on your place, which accumulate to  calculate your overall places for the day, which feeds your series point score.
  • Beach Sprints are also Round Robin. You race 3 rounds – different distances – against different competitors. Based on points accumulated in each round, the top 8 go to a final. They fight it out for the top 8 places for the day. Those not making the final make up the remaining places based on the accumulated Round Robin points, and this all then feeds the series point score.
  • Beach Flags is the same explosive event as normal. No need for any changes.

For the 2026/2027 season, there will be 15 x 5,000 point events taking place across 5 states, culminating in a 10,000 point finale hosted at Manly Beach featuring the Beach Sprints and Flags, while the Distance Runs will occur at Wanda. Competitors can enter as many events as they wish, but only their top 3 results will be considered for calculating their series standing.

The series is open to the following age categories -

Under 13 | Youth (combined Under 14 & Under 15) | Under 17 | Opens  | Masters
